I got the 5-day CeBIT ticket worth €200 absolutely for free! It’s hard to believe, but here’s the screen shot. How long does this promo continue?
“CeBIT is the largest and most internationally representative computer expo. The trade fair is held each year on the Hanover fairground, the world’s largest fairground, in Hanover, Germany. It is considered a barometer of current trends and a measure of the state of the art in information technology.
With an exhibition area of roughly 450,000 m² (5 million ft²) and a peak attendance of 850,000 visitors during the dot-com boom, it is larger both in area and attendance than its Asian counterpart COMPUTEX and its no-longer held American equivalent COMDEX.
CeBIT 2018 will take place from June 11 to 15” (Wikipedia)*
One of my favorite questions: does it make sense? I don’t mean to be prescriptive, in the following I am talking about my own point of view.
I’ve been to CeBIT twice – in 2008 and 2009 – and both times the exhibition impressed me with its huge dimensions and ultra-modern technologies. But this time I have other reasons.
Other resources attract me to CeBIT 2018 – the people. Company owner, managing director, CTO, HR manager, recruiter. People who form ideas, launch projects, create and develop companies, but also offer work and contracts.
Technologies and products may be very exciting, but it is rather secondary. CeBIT – is a rare opportunity to meet specialists and entrepreneurs of all calibers, get to know each other, ask questions, make new contacts.
Dear reader, we don’t need to discuss the importance of relationships, contacts, network, don’t we? Here in Germany we call it “the vitamin B” (“B” means Beziehungen (relationships)).
My advice: book the CeBIT ticket (s. the Lifehack below), book the tickets to Hanover, book the accomodation.
I already have my tickets. I’ll be in Hanover from June 12. Join me. I’d be happy to meet you there. My contact information is below.
If you are now in central Europe, you have a unique opportunity to travel to Hanover for at least 1-2 days (the exhibition runs from 11 to 15 June). Consider what a huge advantage you will have over other job seekers when a potential employer sees a stack of applications and suddenly recognizes your photo on an application. “I met this guy at CeBIT!” If someone remembers you or has your business cards, he can contact you or recommend you to others one day, right?
And how about a business card collection with contacts from executives and other decision makers after you’ve got back home from CeBIT?
Well, I don’t think I need to list all the advantages of the CeBIT visit. You know them without me.
More likely, you’re worring how to contact a CEO or senior recruiter just like that? “Networking is good, but how for heaven’s sake am I going to make contacts if I can’t easily talk to people? Besides, my English is not good enough for that…”
It’s a good question. But I have a good answer to that too. I hope you’ll like it. See the article How to make business contacts with minimal language level & low communication skills.
Tickets and the exhibition program: www.cebit.de/en/be-part-of-it/tickets/
Pricing: Day ticket – €100, 5-day ticket – €200. Also available: €300 ticket and the Executive Ticket for €2.400,00
I am almost accepted to pay 200 Euros, that enormous sum, when my virtual assistant discovered a link and emailed me immediately: www.cebit.de/en/registration/ticket/
The URL www.cebit.de seemed to be trusted. Of course I tried there. The results?
Within 5 minutes I was the lucky owner of a PDF 5-day ticket. You can see the fragment of it at the very top. And the ticket is really free! Awesome!
Well, will we meet at CeBIT? Or already on the way from berlin to Hannover?
If you have problems with the tickets, please write me below in comments (NO registration required). Or contact me directly. My contact information.
